In case you missed it, there will be no Clearing the Bases on Sunday. I’m setting up in the CIA booth with Theo at the Northeast Card Expo in Stamford, CT.
Everyone is talking about the hot card market. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that cards are selling for insane sums and that many card indices are way up in the past year.
One thing most aren’t talking about, though, is card content viewership.
Here’s a chart showing my monthly views since my channel started:
The most obvious thing to point out is that in August I crushed my record for monthly views. 147k vs a previous high of 126k.
The other thing to note is that summer months are usually my low months. People don’t consume as much content in the summer. And yet…
Now excuse this sloppy chart, but take a look at when I add # of videos as a column. In August I put out 12 videos, tied for my lowest in a month in more than four years.
In May and June I put out 15 and 14 videos, respectively, and still did 100k in views each month. Every other 100k+ month was November through February, when people are inside more.
The hot market is showing itself in unusual ways!
(Does anyone remember that 31-video month? That was fun.)

I had never heard of the Becky series until last week, but it’s right up my alley.
Becky: 4.5 out of 5 stars. Like an R-rated Home Alone with The King of Queens playing a Nazi.
The Wrath of Becky: 4.5 out of 5 stars. Like an R-rated Home Alone II with Stiffler playing a Nazi.
Are these going to win awards? No. Are they plausible? No. But they sure are fun. And Lulu Wilson is great.
Can’t wait for the third one.
