T206s Pasted To Trunk Lid Purchased By Reseller!

A man named Franky Mitton posted on Facebook the other day that he had made quite a purchase:

He told me he bought them from a woman who found them at an estate sale. It had been listed for $75 and he offered $200, presumably to ensure that his request was accepted. It was.

He didn’t have any further details about the history of the item, but he’s selling it at a no-reserve auction in the Smalls To The Wall Auctions Facebook group on October 14th.

Some in the comments jokingly (I assume) asked him if he was going to retire.

“I feel like I’m already retired. We wake up and get to do what we love every single day. Some nights it’s hard to fall asleep because I’m so excited to get back to doing it. We are blessed beyond belief!”

🎬 Upcoming Videos

Aside from the norm, there’s a new (to me, at least) scam going around and I plan to cover it in a video.

🎙️On the Pod

If you somehow weren’t already aware, I partnered with Graig of Midlife Cards and Adam of Splendid Sports to create a new podcasting network. So far, so good.

Our flagship podcast, Surface Issues, has been surprisingly popular. Episode 4 is already available on Spotify and other podcasting networks. It will hit the YouTube channel on Tuesday for those of you who prefer that platform.

Additionally, Graig’s weekly Q&A is posted there, along with Adam and Dylan’s Turn Back the Clock episodes.

This week I roll out my new podcast series, which I announced in episode 4 of Surface Issues. It’s called “So You Wanna Be A Dealer,” and I’ll talk to dealers from around the hobby every other week.

🎬 Channel Highlights From the Past Week

I wanted to acknowledge my technical issues again. Everyone seems to think they have a solution, but everyone has the problem wrong.

Here are the issues:

  • Microphone: this has largely been fixed in recent months with my new microphone. Unfortunately, Streamyard isn’t playing nice with the microphone, despite acknowledging its presence. So my Sunday videos have struggled with audio. So I bought a new headset (again), and that is a fine workaround. Far from great, but it’s fine.

  • Internet: Sunday’s issues were strictly internet. Unfortunately there was no indication from Streamyard that there was an issue. It wasn’t until I finished recording and noticed that the screen-share had ended that I discovered it.

Honestly, the internet is a lesser concern for me. I never have internet issues, and I’m on video calls all day, five days a week.

It actually makes me think it wasn’t really an internet problem, but a Streamyard problem.

I’m considering a laptop upgrade to help me fix this. I bought a cheap laptop last December for basic internet things, but never considered the bad camera and inability to work with certain microphones.

I appreciate your patience while I work through these issues.

🎁 My Pickup Of The Week

I’m on a bit of a Nomar Garciaparra refractor kick. All Red Sox, all playing-days. Here’s one.

I’d love to get some Pedro playing-days refractors, but they’re all so expensive.

👻 Brief Horror Movie Review of the Week

This week I watched Together, and felt at times that it had to be a Zach Cregger movie. It wasn’t, but it could have been. Really weird, and really good.

3.5 out of 5 stars.
